We’re delighted to introduce our new website, designed to offer a clear and engaging insight into the heart of our alternative provision. Here, you can explore how we support young people with SEND through our unique blend of positive interactions (human and animal), practical training, and education.
Please note, some pages are still under development, but we’re working hard to complete these as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience as we continue to grow and improve our site.
With stunning views and home to our award-winning Equine Centre, Higher Farm Education provides an inspiring alternative provision for Post-16 learners with SEND. We’re also excited to be expanding our support with the development of a 14-16 provision on site.
At Higher Farm Education, we recognise that traditional education does not work for everyone. Many young
people can feel disconnected, lack confidence, and worry that "school is not for them." This often leads to disengagement, which can be made worse by unmet social and emotional needs, hindering both progress and happiness.
That’s why we’re here—to provide a supportive, flexible, and engaging environment where learners can rediscover their confidence, develop new skills, and thrive in a way that works for them.
Our curriculum offers a practical, hands-on approach tailored to each learner. Built on trust and strong relationships, we create a culture of inclusion where every day is a chance to start fresh and grow.
By changing the setting and dropping formalities, we make learning less daunting and more accessible. This helps learners feel safe, comfortable, and ready to engage
Our team consists of humans and a wide variety of animals, all working together to create the unique and inspiring environment that makes Higher Farm Education stand out.
All our learning activities are tailored to learners' needs, and we work at their pace during transitions. Our experienced staff are here to listen, support, and encourage along the way. Together, we create a strong sense of community where everyone feels valued.
We are pleased to announce our Open Afternoon on Monday 17th February 11am until 3pm.
Come and join us at Higher Farm Education. See our provision first hand and take the opportunity to meet our human and animal teams.
Tom Ritchings our partnership assessor from Haddon Training Ltd will also be onsite to share qualification information and answer any questions.
Come and join the Higher Farm Education treasure hunt to explore our provision, and don't forget to spend a little time with our animals. Lisa Duncan and the Wellbeing Team will be with us to show you our animal intervention programmes.
What an opportunity....not one to be missed!
